It's International Colour Day!

In my country 21st of March, known by majority as the first day of Spring, has also another signification. It is a long awaited day for all students, and not only because it means that the days will be becoming longer, and that the Spring has finally arrived, but mostly, because on this day you can skip classes. In Poland, 21st of March is Skip Day. Students celebrate Spring, going for ice cream or to the cinema with classmates, and get that first scent of vacation.

More importantly in the scope of the activity of the Colour Lab, as from 2009, 21st of March has become the Internaional Colour Day. This gives us yet another reason to celebrate this day of Equinox!
21st of March is a day which brings hope and colour to the grey winter days, so why not add to, it and celebrate the fascinating phenomenon of colour itself?

International Colour Day has been established by the International Colour Association (AIC - Association Internationale de la Coleur) and through their initiative, now a number of different events around the word are held to celebrate. You can check out the AIC website to see the agenda for this year here.

You can also check your city’s agenda, to find out if there is anything going on near you:

  • Arts exhibitions, architectural projects, meetings, debates, scientific events

  • Workshops on the us of colour and light

  • Contests on colour and light design

And if not, then simply wear your favourite colour, welcome Spring and spread the word that Today is Colour Day!
