Professor Anna Franklin presents as a guest speaker at University of Lausanne
Anna Franklin, Professor of Visual Perception and Cognition (Psychology) at the University of Sussex, UK, will give a guest lecture "Colour categories and their origins" on 19th March 2018. Prof. Anna Franklin will discuss how human mind puts colours into categories (e.g., red, blue, green, yellow, etc.) and will question whether colour categorisation is determined by colour perception (vision) or colour naming (language). She will further address the issue to what extent colour names present in one's language influence colour perception and vice versa. The lecture will take place at 10.30-12.00 in 4314 Géopolis building, University of Lausanne. Event is open to public and free of charge.
