A man falls into a fake looking hole painted in the “blackest black”
A 60-year old Italian tourist fell into a fake looking painted hole at the Serralves museum in Porto in late August this year. The artwork, Descend into Limbo, is an optical illusion created by Sir Anish Kapoor with the use of the blackest black pigment (Vantablack). This pigment reflects almost no light and appears completely black. The blackest black is so black that a 3D hole looks like a 2D circle painted on the floor, as if it was an ACME hole from Looney Tunes. More on the story here.
