Colour Experience team gave an interview for the Süddeutsche Zeitung

Prof Christine Mohr and Dr Domicele Jonauskaite had the pleasure to give an interview for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, called “Reine Schönfärberei. Was Farben in uns auslöse”.

They talked about how we naturally tend to relate certain colors with specific emotions, for example when we say we see red or we feel blue. They discussed some of her key studies that allowed us to discover that not only color - emotion associations exist, but they are stable and consistent cross-culturally. Furthermore, such color - emotion associations appear to be stable in blind people too!

However, can people really be deciphered through which colour they like the most? Not so much! The colour research team at the University of Lausanne found that colour preferences appear unrelated to personality traits which undermines the usefulness of color-based personality assessments in real life.
